Community tree planting at Cranford Basin: 10 Oct

On Saturday 10 October the public can join in planting some of the 40,000 kahikatea trees planned for the Cranford Basin. Wear gumboots, bring your own tools and gloves if you have them, and meet at 103 Philpotts Road. The event runs from 10am to 12pm, with a BBQ lunch to finish. Board submissions to Council on trees, community facilities, aquatic experience

On 25 September, the submissions committee of the Waipapa/Papanui-Innes Community Board formulated submissions to Council on: the draft tree policy; the Community Facilities Network Plan; and the Aquatic Sensory Experience at the Metro Sports Facility. Details of the submissions can be found in the minutes. (All three consultations remain open until later this month, and members of the public are welcome to give feedback via the Council’s ‘have your say’ page.)

18 September Board meeting outcomes

At the 18 September meeting, the Waipapa/Papanui-Innes Community Board: approved no stopping lines for the south side of Prestons Road near Marshlands Road; approved a grant towards the costs of the St Albans Community Centre opening; and approved a grant from the Board’s Youth Development Fund.
