Council consults on waste plan

The Government requires Councils to review waste management and minimisation plans every six years. Christchurch’s plan and policies have been reviewed, and the Council is now seeking feedback, including on:

  • separate glass collection and processing;
  • repurposing unwanted household goods;
  • and a dedicated litter team.

Draft policies on litter & illegal dumping, and community waste disposal, are also open for feedback.

Agenda of 13 July 2026 Community Board meeting

The Waipapa Papanui-Innes-Central Community Board will meet at 4pm on Monday 13 July 2026 in the Papanui boardroom.

The agenda includes: public paticipation; safety improvements at the Armagh/Fitzgerald and Gloucester/Fitzgerald intersections; ‘authorised vehicles only’ parking on Livingstone Street, where the footpath is located on privately-owned property (pic); and a report on issues and initiatives within the Board area.

The meeting is open for the public to attend and will be livestreamed on the Board’s YouTube channel and Facebook page.
