I’m getting in touch to let you know that at its meeting on 24 August, the Papanui/Innes Community Board decided to defer their recommendation to Council for a decision on the Main North Road bus priority proposal. They will reconsider the report at their 14 September meeting.
The agenda will be available online three working days before the meeting.

SAWYERS ARMS RD – WATER MAIN REPAIR – STOP/GO – 12:45PM – THURS – 30AUG
A water main has blown out on Sawyers Arms Rd near the intersection with Sissons Dr. A stop/go is in place & caution is needed when driving through the work area.^SM

Marble Wood Drive – Parking proposal
Marble Wood Drive is a cul-de-sac which has unrestricted on-street parking. During the week the street is fully parked for most of the day.
This week's Nor'West News appears to mis-report the outcome of last Friday's Community Board meeting. Contrary to what's in the paper this week, Waipapa/Papanui-Innes Community Board deputy chair Emma Norrish advises that the Board has not approved the proposed Main North Road bus priority project, and that the Board will revisit the project at a later meeting. (Also, the Board is due to meet today 29 August, specifically to deal with Strengthening Communities funding decisions.)

At today’s Papanui Innes Community Board meeting we received the petition from 9 year old Shannon asking for a pump track in Shirley, and requested staff to come back to us with a report on this.
We then heard deputations from three submitters on the Main North Rd bus priority project, before spending a considerable amount of time hearing from staff about the proposal. Board members aired a number of concerns and had a number of questions about the project which were discussed with staff, but…

Here’s a run-down on what’s coming up this Friday at our Papanui Innes Community Board meeting. We’ve got a decision on the Main North Rd Bus Priority Project, which I’ve gone into some detail about here, as well as some important funding decisions.
The Waipapa/Papanui-Innes Community Board will meet this Friday at 9am in the Papanui boardroom. The agenda includes: a report from Council staff on the proposed Main North Road Bus Priority project; road names for a new subdivision in Belfast; approval of grants from the Strengthening Communities Fund totalling $147,643; establishment of a Positive Youth Development Fund for 2018/19; a funding application from the North-West Collective (which staff recommend the Board declines); and funding applications from three other community groups (recommended for approval).
