The Braintree Wellness Centre on Langdons Road supports people living with neurological conditions to live well in the community. Braintree will hold an open day this Saturday morning 25 November. Through the morning there will be presentations by Multiple Sclerosis & Parkinsons, Dementia Canterbury, Stroke Foundation, Aphasia NZ and Southern Music Therapy. Celebrate Bishopdale & Bishopdale Skate Jam: Sat 25 Nov 11am-2pm

Marian College moves in to Papanui
Marian College moves in to their Papanui site this week. Take care in the Northcote Road area as there will be more cyclists and pedestrians on the move, and changed traffic conditions, especially around Lydia Street once classes start on Thursday 23 November. 9 November 2023 Community Board meeting outcomes
On Thursday 9 November, the Waipapa Papanui-Innes-Central Community Board: received three public forum presentations and two delegations; approved the upgrade of the Avebury Park play space; approved three grants from the Board’s Discretionary Response and Youth Development funds; and received a report on issues and initiatives within the Board area.
The Board will hold its final 2023 meeting on 14 December.

Kerbside collection continues on Canterbury Anniversary Day
The Council’s kerbside collection continues tomorrow as normal, even though it’s a public holiday – please ensure your bins are out by 6am if Friday is your usual day. (There will be changes coming up in December/January due to the Christmas & New Year’s Day public holidays.)
Barnes Road closed 12-17 November
Barnes Road will be closed at the railway line for a week from Sunday 12 November, while the footpath and railway crossing are upgraded as part of works to extend the Northern Line Cycleway through to Main North Road. See the works notice for more information.
