CNC project to impact local roads in January 2019

As construction on the Christchurch Northern Corridor project continues, watch out for changes in January 2019 at the Philpotts Rd and Grimseys Rd intersections with QEII Drive, a partial closure of Prestons Rd, and a route change for the Orbiter bus. Changes to wheelie bin collection days

Christchurch wheelie bins are being emptied one day later than normal this Christmas / New Year (except Monday collections). Most of Papanui/Redwood seems to be on a Friday collection normally, so this week & next week bins can instead to out on Friday night for Saturday collection. Click through for details:

Council opening hours and services over Christmas

Highlights: most wheelie bins will be emptied a day later than usual next week & the week after; and the Council's phone contact centre remains open 24/7 throughout the holiday period.

Potted vege plants given away at Papanui Library

A limited number of potted vege plants are being given away at the Papanui Library today (Tuesday 18 December). See the Community Board’s post for details:

It’s never too late to start your vege garden!

To support people growing their own fruit and veggies, the Papanui Innes Community Board are giving away 20 free potted vegetables at the Papanui Library and Service Centre. Feel free to stop by on Tuesday to get one for yourself, but get in quick before they are gone. You can also enter the Papanui Innes Edible Garden awards, putting you in the draw to win Mitre 10 MEGA Papanui Vouchers.
