As construction on the Christchurch Northern Corridor project continues, watch out for changes in January 2019 at the Philpotts Rd and Grimseys Rd intersections with QEII Drive, a partial closure of Prestons Rd, and a route change for the Orbiter bus. Changes to wheelie bin collection days
Christchurch wheelie bins are being emptied one day later than normal this Christmas / New Year (except Monday collections). Most of Papanui/Redwood seems to be on a Friday collection normally, so this week & next week bins can instead to out on Friday night for Saturday collection. Click through for details:

Council opening hours and services over Christmas

Highlights: most wheelie bins will be emptied a day later than usual next week & the week after; and the Council's phone contact centre remains open 24/7 throughout the holiday period.

NZ Post confirms Papanui PostShop to close
In this week’s Nor’West News, NZ Post confirms the Papanui PostShop will close on 1 February 2019. The intention is to open a new branch in the premises of a local business, but it is not yet known where or when.
Potted vege plants given away at Papanui Library
A limited number of potted vege plants are being given away at the Papanui Library today (Tuesday 18 December). See the Community Board’s post for details:
