There’s an extra-long weekend coming up for local high school students – Papanui High School is closed for a Staff Only Day this Friday 29 May, as well as on Monday 1 June for the Queen’s Birthday public holiday. (Supervision of students is available on Friday – see the school’s post for details.)

At Alert Level 2 online bookings are essential for Council pools (and also for fitness centres and group fitness classes) to help manage numbers and avoid waiting times. Tonight Sunday 24 May the new signals at the Cranford/Innes intersection will be switched on, including right and left turn arrows. For a time during this process all signals will be off and the intersection will be set up as a roundabout. Take care if you are in the area at the time.

There’ll be work at the Cranford/Innes intersection tonight 17 May to install signal loops for the new traffic lights. Keep an eye out for changes to traffic conditions from 7pm as this work gets underway. Next Sunday night 24 May the new lights should be commissioned – while that happens the intersection will be set up as a roundabout. Click through for more info:

From today 15 May through to Monday afternoon 18 May, there will be resurfacing work on the westbound lanes on QEII Drive near the Main North Road intersection.
