Air Cadets: open evening for Year 9 & 10 students

Papanui High Schools are usually visited by the Air Cadets at the start of the year to invite Year 9 & 10 students to an open evening. Due to the public health situation that didn’t happen, but recruitment is underway now and there’ll be an open evening next Thursday 2 June from 6:30pm. 18 May Community Board meeting outcomes

At the 18 May meeting, the Waipapa/Papanui-Innes Community Board: heard from Cultivate Christchurch regarding their red zone project; requested staff investigate speed changes for the Kāinga & Stewarts Gully areas; approved Community Service Awards; and received a report on issues and initiatives within the Board area. The Board will next meet on Friday 17 June.

Wed 18 May: traffic signal outage

FINAL UPDATE Wed PM: NZTA advise “The signals are now working & traffic management is being withdrawn. Further repairs will be required and this will occur over this coming weekend”

FURTHER UPDATE 1:30PM: NZTA advise “To enable a full repair of the traffic signals the intersection of SH74M Main North Rd/Queen Elizabeth II Dr/Northcote Rd will be reduced to a single approach in all directions with a temporary roundabout and a 30km/h speed restriction in place. Motorists are advised to expect delays when travelling in this area and should consider an alternative route until the work has been completed.”
UPDATE: NZTA report that these signals are now operational.
