Urgent moves to chlorinate Christchurch’s water supply are in the news and will be discussed tomorrow (Thursday 25 Jan) by our Council. The Papanui ward has water pump stations with below-ground well heads at the Grampian, Redwood (Prestons Road) and Grassmere sites – see this map, which is included along with many more details in a council agenda paper available at http://christchurch.infocouncil.biz/Open/2018/01/CNCL_20180125_AGN_2256_AT_SUP_WEB.htm.

The Redwood Plunket room has been unused since 2014. Our Community Board has plans for the building to be refurbished for use by a local community worker. The timing of this isn’t clear, but it is one of the local issues that Think Papanui will continue to cover.

Bridgestone Reserve in Langdons Road (pictured) is the proposed site for a Papanui native bush regeneration project. Our Community Board has requested that Council staff provide a feasibility study, so we can look forward to hearing more about this in 2018.
