Agenda of Waipapa/Papanui-Innes Community Board – 3 July 2020
If you’re heading towards Papanui from the north tonight or tomorrow night, watch out for a southbound closure on Main North Road in Belfast. See this post from Transport for Christchurch for information on the timing & detour.
Traffic and safety concerns on Langdons Road have been raised in comments on Think Papanui this week, and also feature on the front page of today’s Nor’West News. The Northlink development has a large amount of on-site parking, but with a high number of vehicle movements, parking on Langdons Rd has been removed to improve visibility. The final stage of the development at the back of the site cannot open until lights have been installed at the Langdons/Greers intersection, but the timing for that is unclear and Council hasn’t budgeted for the lights. The full digital edition of the Nor’West News can be found at:

More shops opening in the Northlink development on Langdons Road: Coupland’s (open now); Noel Leeming, Bargain Chemist, Torpedo 7, The Baby Factory, looking ready to open within days.
If you’re interested in the views of our Community Boards (and other organisations) on the Council’s updated Draft Annual Plan, verbal submissions are being live-streamed this morning. The Waipapa/Papanui-Innes Board’s submission is scheduled for 9:45am. The live stream will be available at: https://councillive.ccc.govt.nz/live-stream
Some capital projects in the Papanui area are proposed by Council to receive less funding in the 2020-21 financial year. Changes include:
(Note that the two Papanui cycleway projects have been listed under Innes Ward.)
A breakdown for each Ward showing differences between the original Draft Annual Plan and the current proposal can be found online at: https://ccc.govt.nz/…/long-term-plan…/2020-2021-annual-plan/
The updated Draft Annual Plan is open for feedback until 29 June.
Prestons Road will be closed westbound from tomorrow Wednesday 17 June for about a month, at the new bridge over the Christchurch Northern Corridor (CNC). During this time the new bridge will be tied in to the existing road. Westbound traffic will be detoured via Hawkins, Radcliffe, and Main North Road – allow for delays.
