Local shops continue to operate at Alert Level 2

Shops, schools, and businesses will continue to operate in Christchurch as we move to Alert Level 2 (talk to your employer if you have questions about your own situation). The NZ Government’s advice on masks at Alert Level 2 is “you should wear masks in situations where physical distancing is not possible, like on public transport or in shops.” (link https://covid19.govt.nz/health-and-wellbeing/masks/) Northlands Shopping Centre has confirmed in the post below that they will be open, with further updates on safety measures to follow:

Christchurch cycleways win ‘shovel-ready’ funding

The Papanui/Redwood area is set to benefit from today’s announcement of infrastructure work as part of the COVID-19 recovery. The missing sections of the Northern Line cycleway have been a particular concern for the Community Board, which has highlighted safety issues with the crossing at Harewood Rd and also the missing section along the railway line between Tuckers & Sturrocks Roads – hopefully there’ll be agreement from KiwiRail to allow the work to progress. The Nor’West Arc is set to connect Papanui to the University. Click through to read more:
