The Waipapa/Papanui-Innes Community Board will meet at 9am on Monday 6 August to hear community feedback on proposed changes to Cranford Street and the surrounding area. Please note that this meeting is being held in the Council Chambers (Hereford Street). Around three hours have been set aside for members of the public to speak to the Board, and a Council staff report summarising feedback received during the consultation period will also be presented. A small subsidy is available from Christchurch City Council Community Boards to help you organise something in your neighbourhood. Have your say on proposed bylaw changes

The Christchurch City Council is seeking public feedback on proposed changes to several bylaws. Public consultation starts today on planned changes to the Alcohol Restrictions in Public Places Bylaw 2009, the Cemeteries Bylaw 2013, the Public Places Bylaw 2008, the Brothels (Location and Commercial Sexual Services Signage) Bylaw 2013 and the Freedom Camping Bylaw 2015 (for Akaroa). Crash closes Cranford St (4pm Tuesday)

Update: Cranford Street is now open in both directions.

There’s a closure on Cranford St (as at 4pm Tuesday) due to a crash. Expect delays in the area, and follow Transport for Christchurch for updates.


CRANFORD ST – CRASH – ROAD OPEN – 5:10PM – TUES- 31JULY – UPDATE

The crash is now clear. Expect delays until the backlog of traffic clears.^SM

A crash on Cranford St, between Malvern St and Dee St, has blocked Cranford St between these two roads. Traffic is currently being diverted by police. Expect delays until the site is again clear. ^SM
