A resource consent application is being considered for the commercial LPG operation on Main North Road in Redwood. Genesis stopped filling and storing gas bottles at the site in February this year following publicity over breaches of consent. Read more in The Star today:

The Waipapa/Papanui-Innes Community Board will meet this Friday at 9:15am in the Papanui boardroom. The agenda includes: a briefing on a proposed change to the District Plan to rezone land adjacent to the Homebase centre on Marshland Road from residential to commercial; and proposed dates for the Board’s submissions committee to meet in October and November. At the 18 September meeting, the Waipapa/Papanui-Innes Community Board: approved no stopping lines for the south side of Prestons Road near Marshlands Road; approved a grant towards the costs of the St Albans Community Centre opening; and approved a grant from the Board’s Youth Development Fund. The full-time northbound bus lane in the Northlands area of Main North Road will be operational from next Monday 28 September. Operation of the southbound bus lane is extending to the afternoon peak as well as mornings. Take care if driving/

Construction of a shared pathway through Rutland Reserve to Cranford Street is about to commence. This will provide a link between the Papanui Parallel cycleway and the new shared path along the Christchurch Northern Corridor. Work is expected to take around three months, and also includes drainage and lighting. Site access for construction equipment will be via a driveway between 43 and 47 McFaddens Road.
The submissions committee of the Waipapa/Papanui-Innes Community Board will meet this Friday 25 September at 10am in the Papanui boardroom. The committee will consider making submissions on: the draft tree policy; the community facilities network plan, and the metro sports facility – aquatic sensory experience.
