Community Board Open Forum: Fri 5 August

The Waipapa/Papanui-Innes Community Board will hold a Community Open Forum this Friday 5 August at 9am in the Papanui boardroom. This is a session of up to 30 minutes in total where members of the public and community groups can speak directly to the Board on issues, activities, and projects relevant to the Papanui and Innes Wards. Members of the public can attend the forum in person or view the livestream on the Board’s YouTube or Facebook page.

New pedestrian crossing to serve Marian College

As a condition of Marian College’s resource consent, a new signalised pedestrian crossing will be constructed on Northcote Road to ensure safe access to the school. Other changes are also proposed for Lydia Street and Northcote Road in that area.

Officially opened: Braintree Wellness Centre

The Braintree Wellness Centre in Papanui was officially opened last night. Braintree is a one-stop shop for people living with the likes of dementia, multiple sclerosis and Parkinson’s, and includes: a gym for strength, balance and aerobic exercise; classes for brain function; and a café full of healthy treats and advice. The centre is located on Langdons Road next to Papanui Bush.
