Boards meet to decide Prestons speed limit reduction – 3 October 2018
The Waipapa/Papanui-Innes Community Board will meet jointly with the Waitai/Coastal-Burwood Community Board on Wednesday 3 October at 4:30pm in the New Brighton boardroom. There's just one item on the agenda – a proposal to change the speed limit within the Prestons subdivision from 50 km/h to 40 km/h. No parking restrictions for Marble Wood Drive

Following the recent community consultation (link below), it looks like Marble Wood Drive won't be getting the proposed parking restrictions, at this stage at least. Council staff have reported to our Community Board that "Following analysis of the submissions and a change in local conditions, staff have advised that they will continue to monitor the situation and revisit the proposal in the New Year if required. All interested parties have been notified accordingly."

Prestons Road exit to Main North Road to be closed for 2 weeks

If you’re used to exiting from Prestons Road onto Main North Road, please be aware that you’ll need to take another route for the two weeks from this Saturday 29 September. As noted, this will likely put pressure on Daniels Road, but at least traffic volumes will be down a bit due to the school…
More disruption coming for Redwood residents! There will be no exit onto Main North Rd from Prestons Rd from Saturday 29th September until Sunday 14th October.
Please try and be patient during this time, as the likes of Daniels Rd will no doubt be extra busy over this period with Grimseys Rd closed as well.
