Video: low-noise asphalt laid on CNC
Low-noise asphalt (and perhaps the 50kph speed restriction) are making a difference to noise from southbound traffic on the CNC motorway today. Compare with the noise from the northbound lanes, where the asphalt hasn’t yet been placed.
New mural and furniture at Papanui Bush
Tonight at Papanui Bush a mural by Papanui High School students was unveiled, and the Rotary Club of Papanui dedicated seats, an outdoor classroom, and a table. Access is via Bridgestone Reserve on Langdons Road – take a look next time you’re in the area, and keep an eye out for future opportunities to assist with planting and maintenance.

Night work to install CNC low noise asphalt
Good news for residents impacted by CNC traffic noise: from this Sunday 13 February, work will be underway to install the low noise asphalt surface on the CNC between QEII Drive and the Pūharakekenui Styx River bridge. This work will be done at night and will involve CNC closures and detours between 8pm to 6am. Around the end of February work will move to the northern end of the CNC, followed by the remaining sections. This work is weather dependant so there may be some delays or date changes.
