22 November Board meeting outcomes

At the 22 November meeting, the Waipapa/Papanui-Innes Community Board: approved traffic resolutions relating to CNC changes to Cranford Street; approved tree removals for the renewal of the Canal Reserve Drain along Marshland Rd; allocated additional funding to the Board's Positive Youth Development Fund, and approved a grant from that fund; supported the nomination of Alexandra Davids to the New Zealand Community Boards’ Executive Committee; and received an area report covering initiatives and issues within the Board area. Recap: the week ended 22 November

The Book Club at Papanui Library met this week, as they do every third Tuesday of the month.

I posted a summary of the agenda for this morning’s meeting of the Waipapa/Papanui-Innes Community Board. I’ll post about outcomes once minutes are available.

As the thunderstorm approached on Wednesday I shared a cautionary post from the Christchurch City Council. The worst of the weather appeared to pass to the west of us.

The Waipapa/Papanui-Innes Community Board will meet this Friday at 9:15am in the Papanui boardroom. The agenda includes: detailed traffic resolutions relating to Christchurch Northern Corridor changes to Cranford Street north of Innes Road; removal of trees, and approval of a landscaping concept, associated with the renewal of the drain on the west side of Marshlands Road; an additional funding allocation for the Board's Positive Youth Development Fund; an application to the Positive Youth Development Fund; and an area report covering initiatives and issues within the Board area. Bishopdale Skate Jam: 24 November

The Bishopdale Skate Jam will run next Sunday 24 November (at the same time as Celebrate Bishopdale – see previous post). The Skate Jam includes demonstrations, competitions, skate lessons and free skateboard hire, and a free sausage sizzle. You'll also be able to talk to Council staff about the proposed revamp of the skate park.

Sunday 24 November: Celebrate Bishopdale!

Next Sunday 24 November the Celebrate Bishopdale event is on from 11am to 2pm at Bishopdale Park – a family fun day with performances, stalls, activities, and food. The Bishopdale Skate Jam is happening at the same time (see Think Papanui's next post for more info on that one).
