Council considers consent for co-housing complex

The former Wendover Rest Home in Papanui has new owners, who are proposing to reopen it as a ‘co-housing’ complex for professionals. Board submits on Strengthening Communities

Agenda of Waipapa/Papanui-Innes Community Board – 18 September 2020

The Waipapa/Papanui-Innes Community Board will meet this Friday at 9:15am in the Papanui boardroom. The agenda includes: a proposal for No Stopping restrictions on the south side of Prestons Rd near Marshland Rd; funding towards the costs of the opening of the St Albans Community Centre; and an application to the Board’s Youth Development Fund. Grimseys Rd closed southbound between Dunbarton/Prestons

Grimseys Road will be closed southbound between Dunbarton St and Prestons Rd for around a week from Monday 14 September, with a detour in place for traffic including the 125 bus. This will allow work at the intersection relating to the approach to the CNC bridge. This closure does not affect traffic on Prestons Rd or northbound traffic on Grimseys.

Board meeting outcomes – 4 September

At the 4 September meeting, the Waipapa/Papanui-Innes Community Board:

    • heard from a group of Casebrook Intermediate students that had been supported by the Board’s Youth Development Fund;
    • heard from a member of the community concerned about the downstream effects of the CNC project;
    • received a report on traffic safety in the Northcote area;
    • allocated funds for Summer With Your Neighbours and the Youth Development Fund;
    • approved a grant from the Youth Development Fund;
    • and received an area report on initiatives and issues current within the Community Board area.
