30km/h zone implemented in Papanui
The signs are up for the revised 30km/h speed limit for Sisson Drive, Langdons Road, Restell Street and Winston Avenue. As of this morning the markings on the road surface were yet to be updated but this should be done soon.
Agenda for inaugural Community Board meeting
The Waipapa/Papanui-Innes Community Board will hold its inaugural meeting this Friday 8 November. Board members will: sign declarations (see image); elect a chair and deputy chair; receive reports on the election and on statutory requirements that apply to the Board and to Board Members; and set dates for initial ordinary meetings (likely to be 22 November and 13 December). The meeting will start at 9am in the Papanui boardroom, and is open for the public to attend. The full agenda is available on the Council's website:

New well for Papanui pump station
A new deep well is set to be drilled at Papanui’s Grassmere pump station, replacing a shallow well. This site supplies about 3% of the city’s water, and while the work is underway Grassmere’s water will be dosed with chlorine at 0.5mg/L. Council staff are also proposing water restrictions over summer to avoid bringing further unsecure wells back into service. For more information see the Council’s article on Newsline:
