This week’s Nor’West News mis-reports Board meeting outcome

This week's Nor'West News appears to mis-report the outcome of last Friday's Community Board meeting. Contrary to what's in the paper this week, Waipapa/Papanui-Innes Community Board deputy chair Emma Norrish advises that the Board has not approved the proposed Main North Road bus priority project, and that the Board will revisit the project at a later meeting. (Also, the Board is due to meet today 29 August, specifically to deal with Strengthening Communities funding decisions.)

No decision yet from the Waipapa/Papanui-Innes Community Board on the Main North Road bus priority project (or on Strengthening Communities funding allocations). See this post for more information.

At today’s Papanui Innes Community Board meeting we received the petition from 9 year old Shannon asking for a pump track in Shirley, and requested staff to come back to us with a report on this.

We then heard deputations from three submitters on the Main North Rd bus priority project, before spending a considerable amount of time hearing from staff about the proposal. Board members aired a number of concerns and had a number of questions about the project which were discussed with staff, but…
