4 July Community Board outcomes

Last week’s extraordinary meeting of the Papanui-Innes Community Board considered proposed road layout options for aspects of the Christchurch Northern Corridor (CNC) project. The Board made some amendments to staff recommendations before passing three resolutions, although Councillor Mike Davidson and Board Chair Ali Jones voted against one of these, meaning it only passed by 3 votes to 2 votes against. Celebration for Redwood and Mairehau: the opening of the CNC Winters Road subway | NZ Transport Agency

The Winters Road cycle and pedestrian subway has opened! This structure has been built as part of the Christchurch Northern Corridor (CNC) project, and users of the QEII Drive shared path will now be diverted this way due to construction of the QEII Drive / CNC interchange. Members of the CNC project team were on hand at the opening, giving spot prizes to many of the first users of the subway.
