Have you noticed houses being demolished/removed on Prestons Road? The large project office that’s been built between Winters Road and QEII Drive? These are some of the first steps in the four-year project to construct the Christchurch Northern Corridor. This project will have a big impact on Redwood & Papanui, as well as other parts of the city, and Think Papanui will be posting photos and other project updates from time to time. Also see the NZTA’s information page at http://www.nzta.govt.nz/projects/christchurch-motorways/christchurch-northern-corridor
Progress photos showing aspects of the Christchurch Northern Corridor (CNC) project, from 2016 to 2020(?). See http://www.nzta.govt.nz/projects/christchurch-motorways/christchurch-northern-corridor for official project information.

Today’s Press has an article on Papanui Councillor Mike Davidson: http://www.stuff.co.nz/the-press/news/85307289/new-christchurch-city-councillor-mike-davidson-breaks-family-curse
His father couldn’t do it and his grandfather missed out by one vote. Councillor Mike Davidson is bucking the family trend.
