There's been road works on Sturrocks Road by the railway line recently, with a closure & detour in place. Think Papanui hasn't been able to find much information online about what's happening, but when visiting this evening the road was still closed eastbound. On the bright side, it looks like the works are nearly finished, so it may be open again very soon.
At the 9 November meeting, the Waipapa/Papanui-Innes Community Board: approved a road name for a development off Sawyers Arms Road; approved a grant from the Board's Positive Youth Development Fund; and approved two grants from the Board's Discretionary Response Fund, while leaving another funding request on the table for further consideration. With NZTA increasing their subsidy on certain transport projects to 75.5%, there is an opportunity that a couple of significant transport projects in the ward will be brought forward at the next Annual Plan, while at the same time not increasing the budget.
The Waipapa/Papanui-Innes Community Board will meet this Friday at 9am in the Papanui boardroom.
