Harewood Road closure
: Harewood Road will be closed 24/7 to vehicles, cycles, and pedestrians at the railway line until late September 2024. The Harewood Rd end of Restell Street is also closed. Detours are in place – please expect changed traffic patterns and significant delays if you are in the area. The closure is to allow rail renewal works and also the construction of a safer crossing for pedestrians and cyclists. During this closure, Langdons Road (at the Greers Road end) is back to two-way traffic.

The Council is consulting on three options for peak-hour lanes on Cranford Street between Innes Road and Berwick Street. These are:
All options include other improvements including replacing the ‘short merge’ for northbound traffic after the English Park crossing with a clearway through to Westminster Street.
Information on all the options, a feedback form, and a registration link for a webinar (12:30pm on 7 August) can be found at the link below. For those who like to engage with the detail, there are additional supporting documents available including an in-depth technical assessment with modelling for the proposed options.
The proposals are open for feedback until Monday 26 August, after which the Waipapa Community Board will hear from submitters, consider all feedback and the staff recommendation, and decide on a recommendation to Council for a final decision.
