9 February Community Board meeting outcomes

On Thursday 9 February, the Waipapa Papanui-Innes-Central Community Board:

  • heard from a member of the public about safety concerns on the Cranford St shared path, and requested a response from staff;
  • heard from two residents’ associations in the central city; heard from two members of the public concerning our agenda item on Aberdeen Street;
  • received a report-back from a young person funded by the Board’s Youth Development Fund;
  • received a briefing from our local Community Resilience Coordinator;
  • approved no-stopping restrictions on Aberdeen Street;
  • approved parking restrictions for Horner Street near Papanui Rd / Main North Rd;
  • approved road designations at Leander Street and Ramore Place;
  • approved Discretionary Response Fund grants to the Marist Albion Rugby Club and the Phillipstown Community Centre Charitable Trust;
  • voted for a representative on the LGNZ Community Board Executive Committee;
  • received an area report on issues and initiatives within the Board area;
  • and exchanged information on matters of interest.

Community Board meeting agenda: 9 February 2023

The Waipapa Papanui-Innes-Central Community Board will meet on Thursday 9 February 2023 at 4pm in the Papanui Boardroom. The agenda includes:

  • public forums and deputations
  • an introduction to the Council’s Community Resilience Coordinator;
  • proposed no stopping restrictions on Aberdeen Street and also on Horner Street;
  • dedication of road reserves as roads at Leander Street and also Ramore Place;
  • two applications to the Board’s Discretionary Response Fund;
  • voting for a representative on the LGNZ Community Boards’ Executive Committee;
  • and an area report on initiatives and issues within the Board area.

Papanui RSA is looking for more members. Do you realise that you do not have to be a Veteran or exservice person to become a member of this club?
We have all types of memberships available. Cost is only $30 per year.
If you are a local or wish to belong to a friendly club, pop in and introduce yourself . We have a 3 month temporary membership that allows you to visit and use the clubs facilities without pay a fee. At the end of this period , if you like you can join.
No joining fee , just a yearly subscription.
Child friendly as well. We now have a kiddies area along with Tv , DVD and play area.
Raffles held Thursday Friday and Saturday nights.
Club night is Thursday night.
Cafe open for lunch and dinner. function rooms available as well.
Closed Sundays and Mondays at the moment.
Office is open Monday thru Friday 8am to 4 pm.

Papanui Bush working bee 27 Jan

There’ll be a working bee at Papanui Bush this Friday 27 January, with Rotary Club of Papanui and Conservation Volunteers New Zealand weeding and releasing plantings. Come along and be part of this project and learn more about the history of Papanui Bush and the area. BYO sturdy footwear, suitable clothing and gloves/tools if you have them. St Albans Skate Jam: Saturday 21 January

The St Albans Skate Jam is on tomorrow 21 January from 12 midday to 3:30pm at the St Albans Skate Park. Join the Skate Skool team and learn how to skateboard.
