Voting in the general election and referendums has started. This year there are two places at Northlands Shopping Centre where you can vote – these will be open daily right through to election day on 17 October. Community tree planting at Cranford Basin: 10 Oct
On Saturday 10 October the public can join in planting some of the 40,000 kahikatea trees planned for the Cranford Basin. Wear gumboots, bring your own tools and gloves if you have them, and meet at 103 Philpotts Road. The event runs from 10am to 12pm, with a BBQ lunch to finish. Board submissions to Council on trees, community facilities, aquatic experience
On 25 September, the submissions committee of the Waipapa/Papanui-Innes Community Board formulated submissions to Council on: the draft tree policy; the Community Facilities Network Plan; and the Aquatic Sensory Experience at the Metro Sports Facility. Consent considered for LPG depot in Redwood
A resource consent application is being considered for the commercial LPG operation on Main North Road in Redwood. Genesis stopped filling and storing gas bottles at the site in February this year following publicity over breaches of consent. Read more in The Star today:
