Resurfacing work on QEII Drive by Main North Road

From today 15 May through to Monday afternoon 18 May, there will be resurfacing work on the westbound lanes on QEII Drive near the Main North Road intersection. The Christchurch City Council will meet online this Thursday 14 May at 10am.

The agenda includes:

    • an update by the COVID-19 Incident Management Team Lead;
    • a Financial Performance Report that shows a $34 million impact on this year’s Council finances due to COVID-19;
    • and recommendations for an amended Annual Plan process, with Council proposals to be considered on 29 May and public consultation between 12 and 29 June.

Christchurch’s pools, libraries, adventure park and zoos to reopen in level 2

As reported in The Press online, some Council facilities, including service centres, the Art Gallery, and larger libraries, will reopen this Friday 15 May following the shift to Alert Level 2. Smaller libraries including Redwood will be ready to reopen on Monday 18 May, and the Graham Condon Recreation and Sport Centre (including presumably the refurbished pool area) will open the following Monday, May 25.
