No entry into McFaddens Road

From today 14 November for about a week there’ll be no entry into McFaddens Road from Cranford Street. Weston Road is the suggested detour. See this notice from the Christchurch Northern Corridor project for details.

Road works on Sturrocks Road

There's been road works on Sturrocks Road by the railway line recently, with a closure & detour in place. Think Papanui hasn't been able to find much information online about what's happening, but when visiting this evening the road was still closed eastbound. On the bright side, it looks like the works are nearly finished, so it may be open again very soon.

Outcomes of 9 November Board meeting

With NZTA increasing their subsidy on certain transport projects to 75.5%, there is an opportunity that a couple of significant transport projects in the ward will be brought forward at the next Annual Plan, while at the same time not increasing the budget.

Council approves 40 km/h speed limit for Prestons subdivision

This week the Council voted in favour of a staff recommendation that the speed limit in the Prestons subdivision be reduced to 40 km/h.
