Due to a crash, Cranford is closed to southbound traffic at Main North Rd. Northbound travel on Cranford is still possible. Consider using QEII DR (SH74) to Philpotts Rd or Innes Rd for southbound travel or use Papanui Rd. ^SM

Have you noticed something new at Papanui Library? The library is exhibiting artwork created by local young people, based on the theme for Youth Week 2017: ‘Our voices count, count our voices’. Young people from Papanui High School, Casebrook Intermediate, Te Ora Hou Otautahi, and Te Kaupapa Whakaora (TKW) Alternative Education participated. There is a temporary exhibition inside the library, and the window art is planned to be in place for the next twelve months.

Board meeting minutes

At last Friday’s meeting, the Papanui-Innes Community Board’s decisions included approval of a Give Way control at the Winters Road / Fraser Street intersection, and grants from the Positive Youth Development Fund and Discretionary Response Fund. The board also requested Council staff urgently investigate traffic congestion along the length
of Sisson Drive and along Sawyers Arms Road. The next meeting will be held on Friday 9 June at 9am. A copy of the minutes can be found here:

1. Tonight Thursday 1 June there will be night works and stop/go traffic control on QEII drive while barriers are installed just east of Grimseys Road.
2. Tomorrow Friday 2 June a traffic island will be installed at the intersection of Fraser Street and Cranford Street.

Chaneys on-ramp update from NZTA: northern motorway changes at the Chaneys on-ramp have been postponed: “Unfortunately these changes didn’t happen yesterday due to some issues with the pavement. We now expect to close the Chaneys on-ramp and open the new neighbouring one-laned diversion road mid-June. We will update you as soon as we have a confirmed date.”
