4 December Board meeting outcomes
At the 4 December meeting, the Waipapa/Papanui-Innes Community Board: received reports back from young people funded by the Board’s Positive Youth Development Fund; requested staff investigate an extension of the alcohol ban area in Papanui and also yellow no stopping lines for parts of Erica Street; and adopted a meeting schedule for 2021 & appointed a Recess Committee for the summer break. CNC open to all traffic from 17 December
The Christchurch Northern Corridor (CNC) motorway is set to open to all traffic from around 1pm on Thursday 17 December. The shared pedestrian/cycle path will open also. Click through for more information, including details of work yet to be done, and T2 lanes & express busses operating from January. For residents downstream of the project, the Council is asking for any potential safety issues or significant increases in traffic on local streets to be reported to transport@ccc.govt.nz.

Erica Lodge update
Erica Lodge update: at last week’s Council meeting Grant Buchanan spoke on behalf of Erica St residents about the granting of the Resource Consent for the Erica Lodge boarding house.
Mr Buchanan raised a number of points about the process, including:

- the ability of elderly residents and people for whom English is a second language to engage in the process;
- initial lack of access to the application documents;
- the applicant receiving more support in making the application than residents did in responding to it;
- and the hearing being held across town from Papanui.
Concerns around the resource consent were also discussed in the subsequent report to Council by the Waipapa/Papanui-Innes Community Board.
Mayor Lianne Dalziel acknowledged that a number of points raised need to be responded to, and has asked the Chief Executive to do this. Mr Buchanan’s full submission to the Council can be found at the link below:
