Barnes Road closed for cyclway works
Barnes Road is now fully closed just west of the railway line, while the path through Barnes Reserve is upgraded as part of the Northern Line cycleway. The works notice can be found at: https://ccc.govt.nz/transport/works-3/show/818

Agenda: 8 October Community Board meeting
The Waipapa/Papanui-Innes Community Board will meet this Friday 8 October at 9am in the Papanui boardroom. The agenda includes: a proposed car parking upgrade for Winston Avenue (pic); proposed road names for a development off Prestons Road; and $2,801 of proposed grants for “Summer with your Neighbours”. At Alert Level 2 the boardroom will not be open to the public, but the meeting will be livestreamed on the Board’s Facebook page, and members of the public can request to make a public forum or deputation by Zoom. Cranford Basin Kahikatea Forest Community Planting: 10 October
Conservation Volunteers New Zealand has another kahikatea forest planting day coming up at Cranford Basin on Sunday 10 October, from 10am to 1pm. The event will be going ahead at Alert Level 2 but registrations are essential to ensure numbers are managed. Barnes Reserve shared path upgrade
Work is underway in Barnes Reserve, which Think Papanui understands includes an upgrade to the paths, new lighting, and new entrances onto Barnes Road. During October there’ll be 7am-6pm closures on Barnes Road to keep pedestrians safe.

17 September Community Board meeting outcomes
At the 17 September meeting, the Waipapa/Papanui-Innes Community Board: approved a P3 school day parking area on Courtenay Street as part of the St Albans Safer Routes to School project; received a briefing on St Albans Park rubbish bins; and received an area report on issues and initiatives within the Board area.
