The Waipapa/Papanui-Innes Community Board will hold a Community Open Forum this Friday 1 April at 9:30am. This is a public session where members of the public and community groups can speak directly to the Board on issues, activities and projects relevant to the Papanui and Innes Wards. Applications have opened to the Council’s Strengthening Communities Fund, which supports community-focused organisations whose projects contribute to the strengthening of community wellbeing in the Christchurch city area.
Last year, 36 organisations in the Waipapa/Papanui-Innes Community Board area received a total of $340,820.00 in grants ranging in size from $600 to $55,000. Applications close on 26 April 2022.

A contractor has been engaged to begin work on the Colombo Street cycle connection, which will better connect the south end of the Papanui Parallel major cycle route into the city. Handcrafted rock candy artists Sweet have moved back to Papanui! You might remember their Northlands store from a few years back, and now you can head to 82 Harris Crescent to watch candy being made and shop from their range. They’ll be open tomorrow 9am-4:30pm and then regular hours will be Tuesday to Saturday.
