Northlands PAK’nSAVE will shut its doors for the final time at 6pm today, Sunday 17 March, as the new Papanui store further up Main North Road is readied to open on Tuesday. If you’re looking to save, there’s a storewide 10% discount today (excluding tobacco & alcohol).
Community organisations have until 12 April 2024 to apply to the Council for support through the Strengthening Communities Fund. This fund supports community-focused organisations whose projects contribute to the strengthening of community wellbeing in the Christchurch city area.
Applications can be for operating costs such as salaries, power, rent, and administration, and/or for project costs such as community programmes, events, activities and equipment.
Following on from this week’s closures of Sturrocks and Tuckers Roads, from Monday 4 March there’ll be a closure on Barnes Road at the railway line to allow connection of the cycleway from Barnes Reserve through to the new section heading to Main North Road. Take care if you’re in the area and watch for changed traffic conditions.
Papanui PAK’nSAVE update: the new supermarket on Main North Road is set to open on Tuesday 19 March, replacing the Northlands store which will close on the 17th. The new store will employ 100 new roles – some of which are currently advertised on Seek and on the Foodstuffs website.
From Sunday 25 February through to Sunday 3 March, there’ll be daily road closures on either side of the Sturrocks Road and Tuckers Road railway crossings to allow the railway level crossings to be upgraded. Detours will be signposted. Take care if you’re in the area, and watch for changed traffic conditions.
