It’s the silly season, and the Christmas rush can sometimes get to us all…
Pick a park with a riverside track such as Styx River Esplanade Reserve. Sit by the bubbling spring and take time to pause and reflect before the big day; you’ll feel better for it! http://bit.ly/2zZmgnH

Changes to Christmas/New Year rubbish collection days: in the weeks that Christmas Day and New Year’s Day fall in, the wheelie bin collection day changes for our whole city. For example, Papanui residents who normally have their bin emptied on a Friday will have it emptied on Saturday those weeks. See the Christchurch City Council website for more info:

Board meeting outcomes: At last week’s meeting, the Papanui-Innes Community Board: approved recommended stopping/parking restrictions and bus shelters; approved applications to the Discretionary Response Fund and Positive Youth Development Fund; and received a report on congestion in Paparoa Street (“…the roads around Paparoa Street School have sufficient traffic calming to ensure a low speed environment. Congestion can be expected during school pick-up and dropoff times”). The Board will request information from the Council’s Smart Cities team regarding the possibility of a virtual reality project which could introduce children to the cycle journey experience to their school. The Board will next meet on 9 February 2018. Click through to read the full minutes:
