Northcote Road closure

Northcote Road has been closed, apparently for a scene examination in relation to an incident that happened early this morning. Please take care if you are in the area and watch out for traffic. Follow Transport for Christchurch for updates.


NORTHCOTE RD – POLICE OPERATION – ROAD NOW OPEN – 10.05AM 17 FEB – FINAL UPDATE

Northcote Rd has now been reopened. Traffic is free flowing in the area. ^LT

The closure on Northcote Rd remains in place. Traffic is being detoured via local roads and traffic is moving smoothly.

The detour adds about another 3-5min to the drive time in the area.

The road is expected reopen around midday. ^LT

Due to a police operation Northcote Rd is currently closed between Cavendish Rd and Northfield Rd.

Westbound traffic are being detoured at Cavendish Rd, eastbound traffic are being detoured at Northfield Rd.

Nathan has divided the talks by developmental stage for convenience, but each session will build on the last to develop a truly informed understanding of how your child’s brain develops and functions. The fact you can apply it all to your own brain and self-control is a bonus!

Board meeting outcomes: 9 February 2018

At the 9 February meeting, the Papanui-Innes Community Board: received a report-back from a young person the Board had supported to compete in an Australian athletics championship; approved three applications to the Board’s Positive Youth Development Fund; and received briefings and discussed several other topics (including a planned tidy up of the garden outside the Redwood Plunket Rooms). Unfortunately, due to the bad weather, Whakaoho will be cancelled. We will be running another large-scale event later in the year and would love for you to be involved!

Papanui Community Fun Day

There’s nothing better than a Community that is truly united, one which looks out for its own and seeks to see each other thrive.

On Sunday, February 11th, Papanui Youth Development Trust (PYDT) along with many other incredible local community groups are hosting Whakaoho, a fun, family-focused event.

Come down for the afternoon to grab lunch at some fantastic food stalls, be entertained with Live Music & Dance performed by people from our community, have a go at Stone Carving, getting a Spray Tattoo and have a great time playing on the free Bouncy Castle, Horizontal Bungee, Sumo Suits while getting some great shots in the free Photo Booth.

This is truly an event not to be missed! Bring the family and support some great local community groups.
