Two Major Cycleway Routes that are yet to arrive in Papanui are the Nor’West Arc and the Wheels to Wings. A report to next week’s Urban Development and Transport Committee has brief updates on these:

An update on the Christchurch Northern Corridor – opening hours have been changed to the following:
– Thu/Fri 3 & 4 December: open 12pm – 4pm north & southbound
– Saturday 5 December until Thursday 10 December open northbound 9.30am to 4pm, southbound 10am to 4pm
– Friday 11 December closed.
Then on Saturday 12 December there’s a public ‘walk or ride’ open day, after which the road will be closed until it fully opens on Thursday 17 December. Click through for more details:

Opening hours change, SH1 update, Grimseys Intersection closure
The Waipapa/Papanui-Innes Community Board will meet this Friday 4 December at 9:15am in the Papanui boardroom. The agenda includes: a report back by young people funded by the Board’s Positive Youth Development Fund; and governance arrangements including a 2021 meeting schedule and a Recess Committee for the Christmas break. At the 20 November meeting, the Waipapa/Papanui-Innes Community Board: heard from five young people and groups that had received funding from the Board; received an update on progress with Edgeware Pool; approved a grant of $7,000 for four youth events over the coming year; and received an Area Report on issues and initiatives current within the Board area. On Thursday the Christchurch City Council decided to establish peak hour bus priority lanes on Cranford Street between Innes Rd and Berwick St on a three-month trial basis. The trial will begin in February, and is intended to support the uptake of the new direct commuter bus service from Waimakariri that will travel along the Christchurch Northern Corridor motorway.
