Representation review update: June 2021

The Christchurch City Council has adopted a proposal for Christchurch’s representation arrangements, including the inclusion of Central Ward in an expanded Waipapa/Papanui-Innes-Central Community Board area, and tweaks to the boundaries of Papanui Ward. Redwood Springs is now proposed to remain part of the Ward (along with the rest of Redwood), while there are changes in the vicinity of Veitches Rd and Innes Road. This proposal will be referred to the Local Government Commission for a final determination following a statutory ‘appeals and objections’ period. Click through for more information:

Water supply outage in Redwood/Northwood

Update 8:40pm 17 June: comments online suggest many people have water again, but contractors are still at work and there’s traffic management in place on Prestons Rd. Take care if you’re driving in the area.

Do you have low/no water pressure in the Redwood/Northwood area? The Council is aware of a burst pipe and has contractors on their way. No word at this stage of a time to resolve this or whether there is any risk of contamination.

We are aware of a burst water pipe on Prestons Road and water supply issues affecting the Redwood and Northwood area. We have contractors en route to repair the pipe and restore water as soon as possible. ^pmd
