At the 22 March meeting, the Waipapa/Papanui-Innes Community Board: approved the recommended bus stops on Innes Road (3 board members voted in favour, 2 against, 1 was absent); approved an easement to drain water over Janet Stewart Reserve; approved the reclassification of part of MacFarlane Park; approved an easement to carry telecommunications over Havana Gardens Reserve; approved a grant from the Board’s Positive Youth Development Fund; and received the area report covering initiatives and issues current within the Community Board area. Arrested Papanui man not involved in terror attack
The man arrested outside Papanui High School on Friday afternoon has been confirmed by Police Commissioner Mike Bush to be “A member of the public who just wanted to get their kids home”. In a report on Newshub, Police claim he had a firearm with him, but he denies this. The key point is that he was not involved and has been released without charge.
