The Christchurch City Council will be lowering the dose of chlorine at approximately half of the pump stations that are being treated, with the hope that this will reduce taste and smell issues (“but there is a chance it may not make a significant difference”). Christchurch City Council is starting to lower the amount of chlorine it is putting in the water at some of the city’s pump stations in an attempt to address taste and smell issues.
