Edit 12:30pm Fri 7 April: The Greater Christchurch Urban Development Strategy Implementation Committee today voted to support the adding of a third south-bound lane on Christchurch’s Northern Motorway across the Waimakariri Bridge. See the new post on Think Papanui for a link with more details.
Do you know that this Friday 7 April a joint committee of Christchurch City and other local councils will be asked to support the construction of a third southbound lane across the Waimakariri Bridge? See item five in the agenda in the link below for more details. Matt Doocey (Member of Parliament for Waimakariri) is expected to speak to the meeting in support of this change, and Ali Jones (Chair – Papanui-Innes Community Board) in opposition to it. If supported by this committee and the NZTA board, the proposal will require a variation to the Regional Land Transport Plan and alteration to the designation under the RMA, and this will include public consultation. The committee meeting is scheduled for 9am on Friday at Environment Canterbury, 200 Tuam Street. (Photo credit: NZ National Party)
