Upcoming public holidays will result in changes to Christchurch’s kerbside collection service. There will be no collection this Friday 15 April – bins normally emptied on a Friday will be emptied on Saturday instead. There will be no collection service on Monday 25 April, and all collections that week will be a day later than normal. Click through to read more:

Community Board submits on Council’s Draft Annual Plan

Slow speeds neighbourhood proposed for Papanui
To improve road safety in Papanui the Christchurch City Council is proposing a reduction in the speed limit on selected streets. The existing 30km/h limit around the Sisson/Langdons area is proposed to be extended along Langdons Road past Northlink, with other local streets changing to 40km/h. Board to consider submissions on Annual Plan & other Council consultations
The submissions committee of the Waipapa/Papanui-Innes Community Board will meet at 9:30am on Monday 4 April to consider making submissions to the Christchurch City Council on: the Draft Annual Plan; opting out of kerbside collection; rates on vacant central city land; policy on Māori freehold land. Under the current provisions of the Covid-19 Protection Framework (the Traffic Alert system) meeting attendance is only possible via an Audio/Visual link.
