New recycling guide on its way

The Council’s guide to reducing waste has landed in Think Papanui’s letterbox. There’s information on what can go in the green, yellow, and red bins – if there is too much contamination in green & yellow bins, whole truckloads can be rejected and sent to landfill instead of being composted/recycled.

Summer with your neighbours

In 2019 the Waipapa/Papanui-Innes Community Board distributed $4,000 in ‘Summer with your neighbours’ funding to support over forty local events. Summer with your neighbours is back for 2020, and applications are now open until 6 September. This initiative started out as Neighbourhood Week by the then Shirley-Papanui Community Board in 1998 and has grown to be city-wide and extended through the whole summer.
