The Christchurch City Council will meet this Thursday 9 April at 10am, with live streaming available via the Council’s website. The agenda includes: an update by the COVID-19 incident management team; an economic recovery update; an item relating to noise effects of the Christchurch Multi Use Arena (stadium); and the approval of further borrowing and onlending to Christchurch City Holdings Ltd (CCHL) in the next financial year. It will be interesting to see what discussion there is at the meeting on the possibility of a 0% rates rise, noting that the lockdown itself is set to cost the city $6m. Plant closure forces temporary end to recycling
From this week the Council is temporarily sending the contents of yellow wheelie bins to landfill, due to the suspension of operations at EcoCentral’s Materials Recovery Facility. Collection days are unchanged. Click through for more information:

Agenda for 2 April City Council meeting
The Christchurch City Council will hold an online meeting this Thursday 2 April. The Council has revoked delegations previously granted to Community Boards, so any matters specific to the Papanui area that need addressing in the short term will be dealt with by Council or the Council's Emergency Committee – there are no such items on this week's agenda, which is focused on COVID-19.
