From this Sunday 14 July through to 25 July, there’ll be night work happening on QEII Drive near Main North Road. Traffic in both directions will be reduced to one lane, and westbound traffic will be stopped at times. See this notice from the CNC Alliance for details.
Construction work is now well underway at Kmart’s future Papanui site on Langdons Road. The first walls are up in the next stage of the development.

The Council is asking for feedback on a 100-year strategy for the future of our water services, and up to $10 billion is budgeted to be spent, yet there was a near-zero turnout to the drop-in information sessions over the past couple of weeks. Te Wai Ora o Tāne Draft Integrated Water Strategy
“We’d like your feedback on an integrated water strategy for Ōtautahi Christchurch and Te Pātaka o Rākaihautū Banks Peninsula. The draft strategy covers Christchurch’s water supply, wastewater, and stormwater.”
The Waipapa/Papanui-Innes Community Board will meet this Friday 12 July at 9am in the Charles Upham Room of the Papanui RSA. The agenda includes: funding allocations for the Board's Discretionary Response Fund and Positive Youth Development Fund; a re-revisit of a funding application from Aratupu Preschool; two applications to the Board's Positive Youth Development Fund; and an area report covering initiatives and issues within the Community Board area. Please share your thoughts in the comments. I've been to two of the drop-in sessions and almost no-one is turning up to engage with the process. I'd love to hear from people on why this is. A reminder that there's a lane closed on Main North Road southbound at Prestons Road. This is planned to be in place until Monday 22 July – when Think Papanui checked it out this morning the lighter school-holiday traffic seemed to be coping okay. (Also note that there's no exit at Prestons Rd into Main North Rd due to the same roadworks.)
