With NZTA increasing their subsidy on certain transport projects to 75.5%, there is an opportunity that a couple of significant transport projects in the ward will be brought forward at the next Annual Plan, while at the same time not increasing the budget.

This week the Council voted in favour of a staff recommendation that the speed limit in the Prestons subdivision be reduced to 40 km/h. The partnership has published a draft settlement pattern update that looks 30 years ahead, outlining how the region will support future housing and business growth for an expected population increase of 150,000 people.
