Have your say on the future of rural land on the western side of the upper end of Cranford St. Public comment on the draft Cranford Regeneration Plan will open on March 30 – keep an eye out for more information via Think Papanui or directly from Christchurch City Council sources.


Public feedback will be sought on a draft Regeneration Plan that provides for some residual rural land in Papanui/St Albans to be rezoned for residential purposes.

The draft Cranford Regeneration Plan has been prepared by the Christchurch City Council under new legislation designed to support regeneration.

The plan focuses on the regeneration of about 125 hectares of land on the western side of the upper end of Cranford St.

Christchurch Northern Corridor Open Day

Christchurch Northern Corridor community open day Tuesday 28 March 2pm-6:30pm at the Winters Road site office (enter via QEII Drive). The Community Open Day is a chance to meet the Christchurch Northern Corridor (CNC) team, find out about the project and ask questions.
There will be presentations, machinery on display and information available on the project.
People will also be able to see the innovative construction methods that will be used and have their say on urban design and landscaping concepts.
Bring the family, kids will be able to get up close to diggers and trucks, make a windmill and play games.
Papanui Primary School will have a sausage sizzle fundraiser going-so bring a gold coin donation.
Free entry.

Children could get free pool entry under a new Christchurch City Council proposal

The draft City Council Annual Plan is in the news (article below) but is not yet available for the public to view. Think Papanui understands that it will be available online and at Christchurch libraries and service centres from 20 March. After that there will be opportunities to engage in the consultation process, including workshops planned in the Papanui area on 10 and 18 April (more details to follow closer to the time).
