As previously reported, consultation on proposed changes to Cranford Street and the surrounding area has generated more than 400 submissions. The Council has now published a document summarising feedback received, as well as separate documents with all feedback and attachments. The Waipapa/Papanui-Innes Community Board is meeting to hear feedback on Monday 6 August at 9am in the Council Chambers (Hereford Street) – submitters have been notified that they have the opportunity to speak to their feedback at this meeting. Subsequently, a draft Downstream Effects Traffic Mitigation Plan will be developed, and then individual transport projects identified in the Plan will be follow (and likely consulted on?). Discussion and debate on proposed layout options associated with the Council end of the Christchurch Northern Corridor (CNC) project took up an hour of the full Council’s time yesterday. Last week’s extraordinary meeting of the Papanui-Innes Community Board considered proposed road layout options for aspects of the Christchurch Northern Corridor (CNC) project. The Board made some amendments to staff recommendations before passing three resolutions, although Councillor Mike Davidson and Board Chair Ali Jones voted against one of these, meaning it only passed by 3 votes to 2 votes against.
