Council funding is available to support local events that bring people closer together and celebrate the unique and diverse mix of our neighbourhoods. Applications for Summer with your Neighbours 2022-23 opened today. Neighbourhood Week was the brainchild of the Shirley-Papanui Community Board (now known as the Papanui-Innes Community Board), which held the first event in 1998. This popular event has grown from year to year and is promoted by the Christchurch City Council. Three years ago the Council extended the event for the whole summer after feedback from applicants and it is now known as Summer with your Neighbours. Applications will close at 5pm on Friday 12 August 2022. You can find more information and an online application form at http://ccc.govt.nz/GetTogether, and also hard copy forms are available from Council service centres for those who do not have easy access to the internet.
