The agenda for the Council’s meeting this Thursday 12 November includes a final decision on the layout of Cranford Street between Innes Rd and Berwick St. The Waipapa/Papanui-Innes Community Board has endorsed
the current design and supported a view that any future changes should not include a clearway. Other options available to the Council include a clearway for general traffic, a High Occupancy Vehicle lane, or a Bus Only lane. Board to submit on housing strategy
The submissions committee of the Waipapa/Papanui-Innes Community Board will meet on Wednesday 11 November at 9am in the Papanui boardroom, to formulate a submission on the Council’s draft Community Housing Strategy. Main North Road resurfaced
Road resurfacing on Main North Road is underway. This is a part of the Council’s regular maintenance programme, and was planned to be done alongside the bus priority works to minimise disruption. The work was delayed due to the COVID lockdown and couldn’t be done before winter, so has had to wait for the warmer spring weather.
St Paul’s Open Day – 7 Nov
As part of the Christchurch Heritage Festival, this Saturday 7 November there’ll be an open day at historic St Paul’s Church in Papanui. The open day runs from 10am to 4pm, with guided tours of the cemetery at 12pm and 1pm. Click through for more information:

New well at Grassmere St nearly complete
The new deep well at the Grassmere water pump station looks nearly complete. Work started last summer but has been delayed due to COVID.
