Think Papanui’s curator Simon Britten rounds up stories from the past week:
A new Catholic church for Papanui has been announced by the Bishop, amalgamating the Bryndwr, Burnside, and Papanui Parishes.
Asphalt work on Cranford Street is progressing. On Monday there was night work outside Kidd’s Cakes and Bakery.
A community weeding day took place at Papanui Bush on Tuesday the 10th of December.
Feedback on a proposed revamp of the Bishopdale Skate Park closed on Tuesday.
QEII Drive was closed for a time on Tuesday afternoon due to a crash.
The Redwood Business and Residents’ Group met on Tuesday evening.
I posted a summary of the agenda for today’s meeting of the Waipapa/Papanui-Innes Community Board. I’ll summarise outcomes once minutes are published.
Coming up:
- For the next three nights there will be intermittent closures of QEII Drive associated with work on the CNC overpass
- Northlands Shopping Centre is open late from this Monday 16 December.
Feedback is always welcome on Think Papanui’s content, either on Facebook or Instagram, or directly to me.
With warm regards
Simon Britten
